L-carnitine, is a naturally occurring amino acid found in
most cells of the body, particularly the brain and neural tissues, muscles, and
heart. As well as being a wonderful antioxidant, is also important for the
proper metabolism or usage of fats, as it helps with the transportation of fatty
acids within cells for energy release. It plays a crucial role in fat breakdown
and energy production. When ingested as a supplement, it usually enhances mental
clarity and focus, along with slight mood elevation.
It is widely available in animal foods (meat, poultry,
fish and dairy products), whereas plants have very small amounts. Most
non-vegetarians consume about 100 to 300 mg of carnitine a day and therefore
vegetarians may welcome a supplemental source of this important amino acid .
Suggested Usage : As a dietary supplement, take 1 capsule 1 to 3 times
daily, preferably before meals.
